I developed the product itself – from idea and mechanical design to international sales
assistep.com ↗Steinar Gamst · product development
I help companies develop physical products, medical devices and technical solutions – from an early idea to something that can be built, tested and used.
The simplest solution is often the most carefully considered.
Selected development work
A selection of products and systems from projects I have worked on across development, improvement and industrialisation.

assistep.com ↗What I do
I step in where ideas need clarification, products need shaping and demanding technical choices must become sound decisions.
I turn complex needs into clear concepts, requirements and solutions that can be realised.
Integrated development at the intersection of mechanics, electronics and control systems.
Fast learning through physical prototypes, testing and focused improvement cycles.
Additional capacity and technical depth when a project needs an experienced perspective.
How I work
Good development is about asking the right questions early. I therefore work closely, practically and transparently throughout.
We start with the problem, the constraints and what truly needs to succeed.
Options are evaluated, visualised and tested before committing to a direction.
The solution is detailed, built and improved through short decision cycles.
You receive a thoroughly developed result and a clear basis for the next step.
About me
I am a product developer and product manager with more than ten years of experience in ideation, development and commercialisation of technical products.
AssiStep is a clear example: I developed the product itself from the first idea and mechanical solution to a finished product sold internationally.
I connect real user needs, technical feasibility and commercial objectives. My experience spans medical technology and assistive devices as well as marine, offshore and specialised technical systems. What I enjoy most is making complex needs clear enough for strong solutions to be built.
